Chiesetta di San Pietro Apostolo
Situated between the valleys of the Judrio and Chiarò streams, the church has very ancient origins, shortly after the year one thousand, though the current building dates to the first half of the fifteenth century. The frescoes under the entrance portico are striking: a gigantic Saint Christopher carrying Jesus on his shoulder, Saint Peter, Saint Martin on horseback, and—somewhat faded—the painting of Mary and Magdalene at the foot of the cross. The interior hall is rectangular with exposed trusses: a fine stone triumphal arch leads to the polygonal presbytery with sail vaulting. Notable fifteenth‑century frescoes decorate the vault and walls of the presbytery, as well as the face of the triumphal arch with scenes of Cain and Abel, and below, Saint Sebastian and Saint Roch.
The choir ceiling cycle consists of 18 figures, dominated by half‑length depictions of six female saints with the symbols of their martyrdom. One sail contains two angels with the instruments of the Passion, another two praying angels; then the symbols of the Evangelists, and the sun and moon depicted with human faces.
