Chiesetta di San Bartolomeo Apostolo
The little church stands a few hundred meters from the Slovenian border. Built in the first half of the 1400s, during restoration after the 1511 earthquake, a polygonal Slovenian-style choir was added, whose vault features a ribbed mesh with corbels depicting prophets and sibyls. The main keystones are figurative and represent praying angels, the Virgin with Child, and Saints Barbara, Catherine, Bartholomew, Philip, Andrew, and Stephen. Of the 16th–18th‑century wooden altars that adorned the church, only a few statues remain. Note the beautiful 17th‑century holy water stoup.
