Biacis

Chiesetta di San Giacomo Apostolo

The chapel dates back to the 12th–13th century, although the current building is from the early 16th century. Under the pavilion portico, the stone was kept around which the heads of families of the Banca di Antro gathered, an institution that administered and dispensed justice in the name of the ancient autonomies granted by the Most Serene Republic at the end of the 14th century. The stone can currently be seen in the village of Biacis.

The chapel has a rectangular floor plan, and above the altar there are two marble statues of Saint Anne and Saint James. There is also a wooden crucifix from 1781 and a stone stoup from 1844.
