Chiesetta di San Paolo Apostolo
Of the ancient place of worship, blessed at the end of the fifteenth century and marked on many historical maps as a fortified tower, almost nothing remains today. The original church was certainly inaugurated in 1496; like other contemporary churches, it was damaged by the earthquake of March 26, 1511 and later restored and reinforced. The bell tower was erected in 1544. Following the 1976 earthquake, the building was renovated and restored to a design by the Udine architect A. Fasiolo. Upon entering, you are welcomed by a single barrel‑vaulted nave; the side chapels are framed by round arches, while the cornice is supported by Doric‑order pilasters. Your gaze is led to the end of the nave: the marble high altar holds statues of the Virgin and Saints Peter and Paul. The two side altars are dedicated to Saints Florian, Blaise, Anthony, Joseph, Agnes, and Louis.
Worth highlighting is the enchantment of the elevated, open, and sunny position, from which splendid panoramas can be enjoyed.
