Chiesetta di San Tommaso Apostolo
At the end of the Judrio valley, before the Molin Vecchio pass, a road climbs up to the hamlet of Codromaz, clustered around the small church of Saint Thomas, dating back to 1480. After the earthquakes of 1511 and 1513 it was restored with the addition of a choir in Slovenian style. The break between the two parts is clear: the nave has a flat ceiling with a (deteriorated) fresco depicting St. Thomas; the choir (entered through a pointed triumphal arch) features a ribbed vault, with the main keystones depicting the Virgin and Child, St. Thomas, Christ, and praying angels, interspersed with nodal rosettes and a shield in ash gray with a red band, probably representing the patron or the maker.
