Clastra

Chiesetta di San Bartolomeo Apostolo

The current church of Clastra dates to modern times (it was blessed in 1827), but there remain interesting traces of the ancient church of the same name, dating to the first half of the 15th century, which once stood atop Mount Clastra. On the left side of the central nave, you can admire an ancient wooden statue of Saint Bartholomew that, together with other statues placed above the altar, came from the original church. On the arch of the presbytery stands a fresco of an announcing angel with Mary, seated in front of the church. In the display case to the right, with the processional cross, there are two icons of Mary and John, works by Pasqualino Zuanella. On the original altar is the altarpiece of Saint Bartholomew with a knife and the skin on his arm, flanked by two figures in episcopal vestments.
