Chiesetta di Sant’Abramo Eremita
The original construction dates to the 14th–15th centuries, when devotion to St. Abraham spread. He was a monk born near the Euphrates who pilgrimaged to France in 473 AD (possibly passing through Friuli). The church was rebuilt around 1535 and its size was expanded at the end of the 19th century: the nave was lengthened by five meters and raised by one and a half meters, incorporating the atrium. The bell tower dates to 1910.
Outside, a dark stone head of a mitered abbot (St. Abraham), perhaps taken from a statue, has been set into the central part of the choir. Inside, at the end of the nave on the altar, you can see the biblical Abraham with Isaac, Saint George slaying the dragon, and Mary holding the small heart of Jesus.
