A panoramic descent. From the refuge we descend to Montemaggiore along the trails. The route continues to Passo Glevizza, where we join CAI trail 749, which takes us down the forested southern ridge of Mount Matajur. From Monte San Giorgio we descend to the solitary hamlet of Pechinie, continuing through beech forests towards Stermizza and finally heading to the stage point of Masseris.

How to get to the starting point
The start of the fourth stage of the Cammino can be reached by private means (car, bike, on foot) or by using the regional bus service TPL FVG departing from Cividale and arriving at the village of Montemaggiore. From there, to reach the Rifugio Pelizzo, there is an ascent of about 3.5 km (+348 m), which can be covered in approximately one hour.

From the fork at Monte San Giorgio we proceed along trail CAI 749 until reaching the ruins of Chiesetta di San Canziano, Mezzana, where we leave the ridge to descend to Vernassino di Sopra. Then we climb again toward the village of Podlar to take the trail leading to Pechinie.
